Mousecaketeer!

Ok… so… that was a terrible attempt at a joke… or something…

Anyhow, Wendy at work asked if I could make her daughter’s birthday cake. She wanted a Minnie Mouse cake and I knew exactly what I wanted to make!

I wanted to put together a sort of deconstructed Minnie cake. That sounds… more morbid than it really is haha.
It was actually really adorable.

For my black fondant this time, I added a bunch of cocoa powder before adding any food color… and guess what?! I was told it was actually edible!!

I even did a tiny little “smash cake” for the birthday girl.

A Nightmare Before Christmas Birthday

You’ll have to excuse the lack of tutorials maybe for a week or two. I’m still trying to piece my life back together.

This is one of the coolest cakes I’ve ever put together. I was super proud of it. My friend’s son was turning 4 (which is INSANE) and wanted a Nightmare Before Christmas theme.
I think I did them proud…

Jacks’ face was hand drawn with edible markers and the skulls were cast in white chocolate! Yum!

Everyone loved it and the birthday boy was happy… success!

Bulldozer Birthday Cake!

photo

I made this awesome bulldozer birthday cake for a little guy named Atreyu’s 2nd birthday. The cake was chocolate filled with cookies and cream buttercream frosting and covered in fondant. I made the wheels out of cookies and all the dirt was cookie and cake crumbs.

Super cute!
